About The Position

Barfield, a subsidiary of Air France Industries KLM Engineering, is hiring a full-time, non-exempt Mechanical Technician to support its Operations/Production department. The technician works on mechanical aircraft components, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, inspecting, disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling units in accordance with applicable manuals and official documents. The position reports to a lead person, supervisor, or manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills.
Successfully completed technical training at a certifying educational institution, or have 1–2 years of bench experience in the field or a related area.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret directions in appropriate maintenance manuals.
Ability to evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using official documents.
Knowledge and experience with mechanical tools, multimeters, micrometers, calipers, measuring indicators, and gauges.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to work with standardized tools and electrical equipment.
Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate units using schematic diagrams, Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and customer Engineering Orders.
Inspect and test mechanical aircraft components to identify defects and areas of wear.
Disassemble, clean, and inspect aircraft components.
Repair or replace damaged or worn components.
Reassemble and test mechanical units to ensure proper operation.
Perform a variety of complicated tasks.
Follow applicable Component Maintenance Manual practices and procedures.
