About The Position

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment throughout the facility. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing various types of equipment, conducting inspections, and ensuring the reliability and maintainability of plant assets. The technician will also be involved in supporting turnarounds, outages, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes.
  • Good knowledge of local codes and standards.
  • Motors, PLC, Drives Experience.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance knowledge.
  • Experience in reading construction drawings.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust).
  • Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
  • Must be able to withstand heights of up to 500 feet.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and other plant assets.
  • Use precision measurement tools and diagnostic equipment to identify equipment deficiencies and determine corrective actions.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and condition assessments.
  • Perform equipment alignments, belt and chain adjustments, bearing replacements, and mechanical rebuilds.
  • Execute work orders and document maintenance activities within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing and improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship on mechanical maintenance best practices.
  • Support turnaround, outage, and shutdown activities.
  • Operate mobile equipment as required and maintain applicable certifications.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout activities.
  • Collaborate with Operations personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and minimize production interruptions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report incidents and participate in investigations.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization.
  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental, health, safety, and company standards.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance policies, procedures, and requirements.
