About The Position

The Mechanical Technician is based at Marathon Pipe Line’s Docks and NGL Complex in Texas City, Texas. The role works in and around LPG and products facilities, executing maintenance and reliability activities and providing field support to other processes and departments. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot problems and work independently as well as collaboratively. Travel, call-outs, and overtime are required as needed. The successful candidate must live within 45 minutes of the reporting location in Texas City, Texas.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently and as part of a team.
Must live within 45 minutes of the reporting location in Texas City, Texas.
Must be able to pass a drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a technical field.
Previous pipeline experience with an emphasis on mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance activities, including vibration monitoring and analysis.
Inspect, install, and maintain major and minor relief valves.
Perform complex pump alignment.
Change lubricants.
Install and repair stainless steel tubing.
Conduct DOT mainline inspections.
Perform flange bolting and assembly.
Maintain valve actuators.
Maintain bi-directional provers.
Coordinate and communicate maintenance activities.
Respond to breakdowns and field callouts as part of rotational on-call support.
Generate computerized breakdown work orders and maintenance requests.
Perform work safely and in an environmentally conscious manner in accordance with Environmental, Safety, and Regulatory requirements.
