The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic must have: Basic understanding of mechanical components (gears, bearings, belts) and familiarity with the safe operation of common hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment. Assist senior mechanics in performing routine preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery, equipment, and facility systems. Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing issues under supervision. Utilize precision instruments effectively, including torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges, to ensure equipment meets exact specifications. Operate and maintain various mechanical systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, general diesel engine theory, pumps, and valves. Maintain a very strong and strict adherence to all workplace safety guidelines, hazard controls, and operational instructions. Accurately follow complex instructions and technical procedures.
