About The Position

This role is for a Mechanical Technician IV with at least 5 years of experience in new equipment installations within a manufacturing environment. The position requires strong technical fundamentals and mechanical engineering skills, with expertise in systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gear systems, and conveyor systems. The technician must be proficient in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, and possess strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS, as well as the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, is essential. Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and practices is also required. The role involves collaborating within a team, managing resources to meet project milestones, and adapting to a fast-paced project installation environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with limited supervision are key. Experience in project leadership/management and vendor/supplier management is desired.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in new equipment installations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates degree in a relevant field (mechanical, technical, engineering).
  • Strong technical fundamentals and mechanical engineering skills.
  • Expertise in mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gear systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work on an independent basis in a fast-paced project install manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with PC software, including Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to work and effectively collaborate within a team.
  • Ability to allocate/supervise resources to accomplish aggressive project milestones and timeline within specification and cost.
  • Able to shift tasks quickly.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail oriented and able to perform with limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Start-up experience is a plus.
  • Relevant mechanical or industrial certifications (e.g., millwright, or welding) are a plus.
  • OSHA or other safety certifications may be required.
  • Project leadership/management experience.
  • Experience in vendor/supplier management on-site/off-site.
  • Experience with CAD.
