About The Position

The Mechanical Technician in Utility is responsible for managing various mechanical facilities and their parts, including air compressors, boilers, chillers, clean/dry rooms, firefighting facilities, HVAC, and infrastructure. Key tasks involve regular status checks, fueling, replacement, and cleaning of these systems. The position also requires taking appropriate measures in response to any malfunctions or damage to the facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in EV battery, auto part, automobile industry, or similar high volume manufacturing in electric or chemical component
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Understanding of UT facility
  • Troubleshooting ability to deal with facility malfunctions
  • Understanding of measuring tools and methods
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload
  • Prepare routine documentation as required
  • Ability to solve problems related to utility (Mechanical)
  • Perform routine tasks required for floor operations, such as equipment operation, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections
  • Perform under direct supervision and follow standard instructions/procedures without variation
  • Possess basic knowledge of equipment and instructions/procedures; Able to operate tasks of one to two sub-processes
  • Engage in basic troubleshooting according to the instructions (encountered problems are routine, and solutions are clearly defined)
  • Communicate through written, verbal, and other forms of communication and follow instructions from superiors

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks that can be performed after short-term training
  • Work under direct supervision
  • Manage various mechanical facilities and their parts including air compressor, boiler, chiller, clean/dry room facilities, firefighting facilities, HVAC, and infra.
  • Perform regular status checks, fueling, replacement, and cleaning of facilities.
  • Take appropriate measures when there is any malfunction or damage of facilities.
  • Conduct Air Compressor Facility Maintenance, including checking and injecting motor oil, disassembling and checking/replacing filters, cleansing auto drain traps, and running test operations for compressors and air dryers.
  • Perform NMP Recovery Facility Maintenance, including measuring pump vibration, cleaning strainers, greasing motors, checking tracing status, checking eye shower operation, and replacing V-belts.
  • Conduct A/C Tower Maintenance, including greasing towers and fans, and replacing V-belts.
  • Perform Steam Boiler Facility Maintenance, including replacing/cleansing filters, cleaning chemical lines, testing LNG lines, maintaining various strainers and heat transmitters, greasing and oiling pumps and fans, measuring vibration coefficients, and repairing/replacing accessories.
  • Conduct Hot Oil Boiler Facility Maintenance, including testing LNG lines, greasing and oiling pumps, eliminating air and moisture in expansion tanks, measuring pump/fan vibration coefficients, and replacing V-belts.
  • Perform Chiller Facility Maintenance, including running operation tests, maintaining strainers, greasing pumps and fans, and injecting decelerator oil.
  • Conduct BCU/BFU/FFU Maintenance, including checking differential pressure, and replacing filters.
  • Perform HVAC facility maintenance, including greasing fan bearings, checking sensors and drainage, testing differential pressure sensors, cleansing strainers, adjusting/replacing V-belts, replacing filters and air vents, and repairing/replacing steam traps and PG/TG.
  • Conduct EHP, PAC, Air Shower Facility Maintenance, including checking operational status and pressure conditions, and cleaning/replacing filters.
  • Perform N2, NG Facility Maintenance, including checking and replacing meters, and supervising PSC Popping test construction.
  • Manage Legal Inspections, including dealing with regular inspections from government offices and documenting inspection logs.
  • Perform Facility Management tasks, including creating and updating facility management history and inspection logs, and cleaning facilities and rooms. Specific tasks for Boiler and HVAC include supervising pipe cleaning and preparing for legal inspections. For Chiller, it includes purchasing and managing inventory of C/T chemicals.
  • Perform Troubleshooting by taking appropriate measures when facilities are malfunctioning or damaged.
  • Perform other tasks as necessary to meet the organization's objectives.
