About The Position

Central State Hospital is seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician - HVAC. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all HVAC controls, machinery, fixtures, and equipment. The technician will also perform general maintenance tasks in plumbing, carpentry, flooring, ceiling repair, locksmithing, and landscaping. The position requires flexibility for emergency situations and on-call duties.

Requirements

• Journeyman HVAC License or Associates Degree in HVAC/refrigeration.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience in automation HVAC controls or Refrigeration repairs.
• Knowledge in refrigeration systems or HVAC controls.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electric, and carpentry.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains all HVAC controls, machinery, fixtures, and equipment.
• Works with electrical controls, refrigerant piping, valves, connections, fittings, couplings, chilled and hot water pumps, air handlers, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, and air dryers.
• Maintains thermostats and humidistats on all HVAC equipment (pneumatic, electrical, or electronic).
• De-scales tubing, cuts and threads pipe, and makes pipe and electrical connections.
• Performs general maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, flooring installation and repair, ceiling tile installation and repair, locksmithing, and landscaping.
• Responds to emergency situations and works as needed.
