Mechanical Technician - Fire & Life Safety (Paid Training Provided)
About The Position
Levitt-Safety, Canada's trusted safety partner since 1935, is seeking a mechanically inclined Technician in Labrador City. This field-based role involves hands-on work in industrial environments, supporting customers by inspecting, repairing, and maintaining vehicle fire suppression systems and related fire & life safety equipment. The company provides paid training and certifications, so no prior fire protection experience is required. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on mechanical work, takes pride in quality, is comfortable interacting with customers, and can use mobile devices for reporting.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on mindset
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be Bilingual (French required at a working level)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (safety-sensitive role)

Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain vehicle fire suppression systems and related fire & life safety equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and system testing to ensure equipment is reliable and compliant
- Complete life safety inspections and provide clear, practical recommendations
- Deliver site-specific training to equipment owners and operators
- Represent Levitt-Safety on customer sites
- Work independently and as part of a supportive team in active industrial settings
