About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanical Systems/Facility Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. This role involves providing hands-on facility and system engineering support for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and modification of mechanical equipment and systems in an operating nuclear facility. The engineer will respond to equipment and system problems in the field, collaborating directly with Operations, Maintenance, technicians, craft personnel, and other engineering disciplines to identify issues and develop practical engineering solutions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical equipment and system performance, evaluating failures, and providing recommendations for repair or modification. Support will extend to various mechanical systems and equipment such as pumps, valves, piping, tanks, HVAC, ventilation, and heat transfer equipment. Field walk-downs, inspections, and system evaluations will be conducted to verify condition, configuration, operability, and compliance. The role requires reviewing technical documentation, supporting maintenance activities, designing/upgrading facility systems, performing engineering calculations and analyses, and ensuring system operation aligns with the safety basis and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the engineer will review proposed plant changes for impacts and resolve engineering-related corrective actions.
