About The Position

Schneider Electric is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer I to provide design and drafting services for assigned projects from assignment until shipment from the factory. This role requires a self-motivated, collaborative, flexible, and detail-oriented individual with a solutions-focused approach. The engineer will be responsible for producing documentation for fabrication, evaluating manufacturing methods and materials, and answering design-related questions. They will also assist engineering in resolving design discrepancies and maintain company reputation by complying with regulations and standards. This role is expected to work with some assistance from other departments like engineering and project management. On some days, the engineer may release custom engineered projects to manufacturing by generating panel layouts and wire run lists, and maintain drawings by issuing Engineering Change Notices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
  • Entry level to two years’ experience in OEM design activities, including experience in Autocad-based drawings or similar.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, File Management Software.
  • Strong spatial recognition skills.
  • Ability to multitask while identifying and communicating scheduling conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Ability to follow precise procedures and thoroughly complete assigned tasks by using strong follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

  • Produce required documentation for fabrication purposes by following industry standards and evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Provides design information by answering questions and requests.
  • Assists engineering in resolving differences between design and fabrication requirements.
  • Maintains Product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Release custom engineered projects to manufacturing by generating panel layouts and wire run lists.
  • Maintains drawings by issuing Engineering Change Notices.
