About The Position

JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to support mining and industrial projects. This is a site-based FIFO role responsible for the field execution and oversight of all mechanical construction activities, including contractor supervision, quality assurance, safety compliance, and coordination with project and engineering teams to meet schedule and budget objectives. Requirements

  • Experienced Mechanical Superintendent
  • Site-based FIFO role
  • Responsible for field execution and oversight of mechanical construction activities
  • Contractor supervision
  • Quality assurance

  • Meet schedule and budget objectives
  • Lead and supervise mechanical subcontractors
  • Installation of equipment, pumps, tanks, and process infrastructure
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASME, CSA, API)
  • Monitor progress and ensure schedule milestones are met
  • Oversee installation of mine process systems including pump stations, slurry and water systems, flotation circuits, thickeners, and grinding mills
  • Conduct inspections and testing including alignment, torqueing, and installation verification
  • Verify installation quality and adherence to scope
  • Ensure QA/QC documentation and turnover packages are completed and submitted
  • Enforce site safety policies and participate in audits, toolbox talks, and investigations
  • Identify and mitigate field hazards related to lifting, rigging, pressure systems, and stored energy
  • Promote a strong safety culture
  • Interface with superintendents, construction managers, and engineering teams to resolve field issues
  • Support planning, material tracking, and commissioning activities
  • Communicate progress updates and highlight risks impacting execution
