About The Position

Maple Reinders is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent for the Duffin Creek WPCP project in Pickering, Ontario. This role involves overseeing site staff, field engineering, and field teams to deliver projects focused on Water/Wastewater, Food & Beverage processing facilities, and Clean Energy infrastructure. The company is growing and offers diverse experiences and challenges. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can direct field operations, manage field employees effectively, develop and execute project work plans, and provide senior-level guidance and mentorship in the field. The role requires flexibility for travel or staying close to the site.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of construction experience as a superintendent with a General Contractor or a multi-trade contractor.
  • Experience with Water/Wastewater, Food & Beverage, or Clean Energy projects.
  • Post-secondary education, CET or equivalent, or a Red Seal Trade certification in a related field.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Windows based computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project).
  • Ability to manage site operations on complex projects in excess of $20 million.
  • Strong mechanical acumen.

Nice To Haves

  • Digester experience would be considered a very strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Direct field operations in the delivery of projects by adhering to schedules, budgets, safety and risk.
  • Effectively manage field employees by providing guidance and leadership on construction activities and developing effective communication between field and other project staff.
  • Develop and execute project work plans aimed at keeping projects on track and on budget.
  • Provide senior level presence in the field, coach field staff on issue resolution, review site labour requirements, mentor field staff and perform succession planning.
  • Oversee projects that vary in size and scope.
  • Lead construction teams, trades and hourly employees.
