Mechanical - Structural/Thermal Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

RTX•Tucson, AZ
•$42,000 - $88,000•Onsite

About The Position

The Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department ensures structural and thermal design robustness across the Raytheon product portfolio. Its work spans preliminary concepts through fielded weapon-system support, applying classical, fundamental, and empirically based techniques, state-of-the-art finite element methods, and testing to develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions. As an intern, you will work one-on-one with a senior engineer on structural and thermal analysis tasks comparable to those assigned to entry-level engineers. You will perform analyses and/or tests, participate in peer reviews, and prepare final documentation. The internship also offers experience working within an Integrated Product Team and learning structural and thermal engineering through department-sponsored training and senior-staff mentoring.
