About The Position

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) is hiring Mechanical Spacecraft Technicians at the Associate, Mid-Level, and Senior levels to support NASA's Orion Program at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Whether you're an experienced aerospace professional or an early-career technician looking to launch your career, you'll play a critical role in assembling, integrating, testing, and maintaining the spacecraft that will carry astronauts to the Moon and beyond. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with specialized technical training, technical associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience requirements vary by level: Associate: 0–2 years, Mid-Level: 3–5 years, Senior: 5+ years
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, fabrication, maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a government background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fabrication, assembly, or installation of mechanical systems is a plus.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanical systems and hardware.
  • Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks supporting production, development, and prototype hardware.
  • Fabricate, install, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Use standard mechanical assembly tools, precision measuring devices, and fabrication equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting, modifications, rework, repairs, and quality testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure mission success.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.
