About The Position

The Site Installation Supervisor is a self-managing, high energy individual who is responsible for electrical and general installation activities on-site for BEUMER system projects as assigned. This is a significant role providing key support for the project management team and will have on-going, direct contact with the customer. The Site Installation Supervisor coordinates the activities of contractors and workers engaged in the installation or modification of supplied equipment while ensuring that the highest quality of work is provided in the safest manner possible to meet project goals. Installation includes conveyors, integrated systems and third party or customer equipment on site. This role will be work and be based out of Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, MI or San Francisco Airport. The Site Installation Supervisor role could be the lead on a site or part of a team with another lead. This position will be based out of GRR or SFO for the duration of the initial project. Upon completion, the role will require travel to other domestic and international sites as needed. Candidates should anticipate travel commitments of up to 90% of the time thereafter to other Airport project sites.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Electro/Mechanical experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to interpret construction and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to interpret electrical line diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize in an environment with competing priorities.

  • The Site Installation Supervisor must be able to safely navigate and work in various physical environments, including: Climbing ladders and stairs, Walking over uneven surfaces, Working on narrow catwalks, Performing tasks at heights exceeding six feet, Working in hot and cold weather
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • First Aid / CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid Driver's License (Must be able to meet insurance underwriting requirements)

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the installation while keeping the Project Manager and team up to date
  • Promote safe and reliable construction activities consistent with BEUMER objectives and policies and be in full compliance with existing and relevant emerging codes and regulations.
  • Follow the assigned project scope and contract work authorization details. Interface with others on the project to learn how job commitments are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Document contractor crew activities. Prepare and present periodic oral and written update reports. Verify the accuracy of checks.
  • Support the team leader or project manager with management tasks as needed.
  • Participate in kick off meetings and or job close out meetings.
  • Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with site and project personnel, serving as BEUMER’s on-site representative for Customer and other subcontractors.
  • Follow claims, change management processes, and report all changes/deviations to project management.
  • Ensure the BEUMER Group processes are followed within the project.
  • Assign tasks to workers and specify method of coordinating workflow to meet schedules.
  • Always promote and maintain a clean and inventoried site while assuring contractor compliance.
  • Review installation documentation with the subcontractor and ensure redline drawings are kept up to date.
  • Coordinate contractors and fellow supervisors review of drawings, RFQ's, and quality control checklists.
  • Support startup and commissioning of equipment.
  • Review mechanical drawing packages prior to starting a project.
  • Ensure the highest level of mechanical and electrical installation quality.
  • Layout of equipment using supplied drawings
  • Monitor mechanical installation and respond as needed to ensure total customer satisfaction. Resolve mechanical installation problems/failures and determine the timeliest resolution path to restore optimal performance. Coordinate with Engineering areas (electrical, mechanical, software) and third-party vendors as needed to address system issues.
  • Ensure all materials used and the work performed are per the specifications.
  • Manage site logistics including handling of material to subcontractors. Source materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project. Evaluate if material quantities are sufficient for the subcontractor's tasks.
  • Secure job site and company equipment in a safe and workmanlike manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
