Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative solutions, interfacing with cross-functional teams for server systems, peripherals and infrastructure. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations. What you’ll achieve As a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for development of Rack-Level Data Center AI solutions and work with our global mechanical, electrical and thermal engineering community on cutting edge AI solutions. Requirements

  • Strong ability to conduct electro-mechanical product development, analyze options for critical design elements and features to determine optimum selection, and drive issue resolution
  • High aptitude to read and understand technical data sheets, complex drawings as well as 3D databases, skills to perform CAD design and ability to analyze from FEA tools
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing design requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand and influence global teams
  • Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Drive early concept feasibility to support and/or influence product requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to drive customer-focused product solutions and influence portfolio strategy
  • Use 3D CAD software to design sheet metal, plastic, die cast, and other components and assemblies
  • Utilize robust design practices to design, prototype, and assess mechanical concept feasibility
  • Interface with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineering and other internal engineering disciplines to ensure the successful development and launch of new products
