Mechanical Senior Engineer
About The Position
Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Senior Engineer to support ongoing operations in Greenville, SC and Houston, TX. This role involves conducting construction document reviews, planning, organizing, and coordinating process/mechanical engineering projects through all phases from planning to construction startup. The engineer will prepare and review calculations and specifications for P&ID development, demonstrate design experience in mechanical systems and equipment, and ensure the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations. Familiarity with computer-aided drafting applications is also required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design
Nice To Haves
- Nuclear experience preferred
- Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred
- Previous DOE/NNSA work experience
- Professional Engineer License preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Conduct construction document reviews as required
- Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects while engaged in the planning, design and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup
- Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development
- Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to mechanical systems and equipment design
- Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations
- Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required
