About The Position

As a Mechanical Revit Technician – Buildings, you’ll be an integral part of our Property & Buildings (P&B) Mechanical team in Victoria, BC, contributing to the design and delivery of meaningful building projects across British Columbia and the Yukon. Working closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams, you’ll help bring complex building systems to life—supporting projects in health care, institutional, commercial, educational, and light industrial sectors. This role offers hands‑on technical impact, collaboration, and growth within a globally respected consultancy.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • Eligibility for registration with ASTTBC.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical building design within a consulting environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD in a buildings context.
  • Experience preparing mechanical BIM models, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems and building construction practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Clear communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, deadline‑driven team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed mechanical BIM models and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD for a wide range of building projects.
  • Support the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, contributing to safe, efficient, and sustainable buildings.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, and electrical teams to ensure coordinated, high‑quality multidisciplinary designs.
  • Apply and interpret BC Building Code, BC Plumbing Code, National Building Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards throughout design development.
  • Prepare system calculations using industry‑standard load analysis tools to support sound engineering decisions.
  • Assist with equipment selection, schedules, and specifications aligned with project requirements and client needs.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and quality control processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Support construction phase activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and addressing field questions.
