About The Position

The Mechanical Reliability Leader at GCF’s New Bern Mill will have overall responsibilities for driving mill-wide reliability improvement plans to improve constrained area downtime. This individual will drive improvement in work practices and procedures across the mill organization, facilitate implementation of work systems and drive improvement efforts for all key elements of reliability. Responsible for ensuring that specific reliability systems are developed and maintained in a consistent and sustainable manner mill-wide, including: Manufacturing Work systems (MWS), Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Significant Reliability Recordable (SRR) management, RI database management, Mechanical Precision Maintenance (MPM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Preventative Maintenance, Operator Basic Care, Annual Outage management, Lubrication, Facility Preservation, and Reliability Certification GMS Reliability program Management of Change (MOC), Constrained area downtime recording, and Chronic Issues reduction. Provide guidance and direction for direct reports including: Utilities Reliability engineer, Fiberline Reliability engineer, Finished Products Reliability Engineer, and PPM Crew FLL. Responsible for supporting and auditing the GMTI and MPM Training efforts, championing reliability related capital projects, and performing failure analysis as needed with the assistance of the Technology and Best Practices Database. Responsible for the development and growth of engineers.

Requirements

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience (pulp & paper mill setting preferred)
  • 7+ years of reliability/ maintenance experience
  • Formal reliability training or experience implementing reliability systems

  • ME certification is a plus
