About The Position

AXILLON AEROSPACE is a leading provider of complex, highly engineered composite and polymer solutions for demanding commercial and defense applications. Comprised of five, purpose-built centers of excellence throughout the USA and Mexico, each strategically focused on serving specific markets across aerospace engines and airframes, as well as munitions, radomes, antennas and fuel containment. The Mechanical Quality Inspector inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance Instructions. Identifies moderately difficult quality issues in design, process or other inefficiencies to meet quality requirements. This position is a temporary role and is expected to last 4-6 months. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 2nd shift (2:30pm-12:00am) on a 9/80 workweek.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years relevant experience, or vocational training and/or relevant apprenticeships
  • Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues.
  • Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment.
  • Capable of following instructions and applying processes and procedures to standard routine tasks
  • Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Participates in analysis statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting.
  • Acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items.
  • Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues.
  • Performs routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies and tooling.
  • Conducts Internal audits and corrective action follow ups.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
  • May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
