About The Position

APS Tech LLC is seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, first-piece inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure products meet company and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical inspection, is proficient with precision measuring equipment, and can accurately interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. This role involves performing first-piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The inspector will maintain accurate inspection records and ensure all required certifications and documentation are complete before products are released for shipment. Additionally, the role requires using precision measuring instruments, maintaining inspection fixtures, preparing shipping documentation, assisting with material handling, performing receiving inspections, and occasionally making deliveries. General housekeeping and other departmental duties may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • One to two years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height stands.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions while working under general supervision.
  • Commitment to meeting production schedules while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Ability to distinguish colors when required for inspection activities.
  • Ability to detect small burrs and defects as small as .010" with the naked eye (corrective lenses acceptable).
  • Accurately read precision measuring equipment including micrometers and vernier scales.
  • Ability to hear normal conversation (hearing aids acceptable).
  • Frequently use precision measuring tools and hand inspection equipment.
  • Demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Move throughout a manufacturing environment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure all required certifications and documentation are complete before products are released for shipment.
  • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, verniers, height stands, gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify product dimensions and quality.
  • Help maintain inspection fixtures, gauges, and measuring devices to ensure accurate measurements and reliable documentation.
  • Prepare shipping documentation.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Perform receiving inspections.
  • Occasionally make deliveries to customers or vendors.
  • Support general housekeeping and other departmental duties as assigned.
