About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a General Contractor delivering a major data center project in the Mobile, Alabama area. This is a full-time, site-based position requiring recent data center construction experience. The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the mechanical scope of the project, ensuring safe, coordinated, and on-schedule delivery by collaborating with Superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, and project leadership.

Requirements

  • Recent data center or mission critical construction experience is essential
  • Strong General Contractor or Construction Manager background
  • Experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale ground-up projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, piping and mechanical infrastructure
  • Experience managing subcontractors, RFIs, submittals and change orders
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and MEP coordination
  • Experience with budgets, schedules, procurement and project controls
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup and turnover
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work full-time on site in the Mobile, Alabama area
  • Candidates must have recent data center construction experience and a strong mechanical project management background.

Responsibilities

  • Managing mechanical construction packages from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
  • Overseeing HVAC, chilled water, piping and associated mechanical systems
  • Managing mechanical subcontractors and trade partners
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFIs and submittals
  • Managing change orders, procurement and project documentation
  • Coordinating mechanical works with electrical, structural, civil and controls teams
  • Tracking schedules, budgets and package-level progress
  • Identifying sequencing, constructability and coordination issues
  • Supporting procurement and long-lead equipment planning
  • Managing equipment installation and startup activities
  • Coordinating with commissioning teams through testing and turnover
  • Ensuring work meets quality, safety and project requirements
  • Supporting punch list, closeout and final documentation
  • Working closely with Project Executives, Superintendents, engineers and subcontractors
