About The Position

RQ Construction, a nationally recognized Design-Build contractor specializing in complex Department of Defense projects, is seeking motivated Mechanical Project Managers to support mechanical construction projects in the Jacksonville, Florida area. The role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and day-to-day management of the mechanical scope of work, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget, while meeting all contract and government requirements. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Five or more years of experience managing the mechanical scope of commercial or government construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Additional coursework or training in construction management, project management, mechanical trades, BIM, CADD, or related disciplines is a plus.
  • Mechanical field or trade experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with military, government, large commercial, or Design-Build construction projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Primavera P6 is preferred; training is available.
  • Experience using BIM software is preferred; training is available.
