Mechanical Project Executive
About The Position
WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Mechanical Project Executive to join our Mt Vernon, New York location. WDF Incorporated is one of the largest specialty mechanical contractors in the New York metropolitan area. We are the only contractors in the market that self-perform HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and specialty general construction in both the public and private sectors. Our client list includes many of the country’s leading owners and developers, construction managers and institutions. With a single point of contact, we deliver quality services that address the key components of constructing a project from the ground up. Across New York State our current notable projects include the NYCHA Boiler Projects, Brooklyn Jail, Port Authority Bus Terminal, SCA High Pressure Boiler Plant, Manhattan Jail.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or related from an accredited institution plus minimum of 15 years’ experience in the lead role on projects valued at 1 Billion or larger.
- Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
- Must have knowledge of regional market and sales/closing skills
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean to benefit the project
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Must have advanced presentation skills

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, the design community, and organizations to enhance future business development opportunities
- Direct and supervise work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
- Oversee the activities of all the direct report entities Sheet Metal, Sprinkler, Plumbing & HVAC Pipe, Safety, and Accounts Controller.
- Develop high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring
- Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements on all projects
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions
- Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation
- Provide oversight for budget and financial management
- Support and drive utilization of various WDF initiatives and technologies
- Oversee the administration of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program
- Drive enforcement of safety protocols by the project staff
- May perform other duties as assigned
