About The Position

The Mechanical Project Engineer supports a team implementing piping and mechanical systems for large-scale industrial construction projects. The role contributes to mission-critical projects from pre-construction through final acceptance and successful completion. Responsibilities include supporting project safety and quality, budget, schedule, job controls, vendor management, submittals, and procedures.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a similar construction Project Engineer role.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
Ability to understand, interpret, and consistently apply safety laws and company policies and standards.
Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
Ability to build trust and achieve results with clients and company team members.
Ability to read drawings and interpret work specifications and work scopes.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Strong work ethic and ability to complete tasks as part of a team in a high-quality manner.

Responsibilities

Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including procurement planning, design review, project controls, and work assignments.
Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule.
Prepare documents to obtain vendor quotes for materials, equipment, and specialty items.
Track material deliveries.
Coordinate with departments, divisions, and internal staff on budgeting, staffing, employee discipline, training and development, scheduling, and other activities requiring discretion and judgment.
Review engineering plans and vendor submittals.
Monitor crew assignments to ensure productivity goals are met.
Conduct field walks and spot checks of work being performed.
Ensure compliance with county, state, and OSHA policies and regulations.
