About The Position

REAL ALLOY is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. As our new Mechanical Project Engineer, you will use your knowledge of project management to plan and implement key capital projects, drive technology improvements, and provide engineering solutions that deliver productivity and improve operations within the business unit. To successfully implement capital projects, our Mechanical Project Engineers must effectively build partnerships with and communicate project expectations to all levels of the organization including team members, contractors, and stakeholders. This Mechanical Engineering role breaks down to 60% Project Engineering/Project Management, 20% Plant Support, and 20% Mechanical Systems Design. Heavy Industrial or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. This Mechanical Engineer position will service our REAL ALLOY facility in Morgantown, Kentucky and provide Mechanical Project Engineer support to other regional locations, including Loudon, TN; Steele, AL; and Friendly, WV. Requirements

Degree required - Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field
3+ years of related industrial experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects
Strong technical and process management skills
Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills including the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved

Nice To Haves

PMI/PMP certification is a plus
Preferred software: Inventor, Auto CAD
Knowledgeable in structural design, federal regulations and standards. OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.
Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, combustion, etc.)
Field experience in heavy industrial environment
Working knowledge of aluminum and/or recycling processes is a plus
