About The Position
University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. (UMEC) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Project Engineer for its Anaheim, CA area operations. UMEC is a leading value-added mechanical contractor in Southern California, specializing in BIM capabilities, design-build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC systems, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. With nearly a century of experience, UMEC prioritizes client requirements and maintains high safety standards for its employees and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3 years industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer
- Basic working knowledge HVAC & Plumbing Design & System Operation
- Basic working knowledge of Commercial & Industrial construction sequences
- Basic working knowledge of construction estimating
- Basic working knowledge of testing procedures for HVAC systems
- Basic working knowledge of ASHRAE data & guidelines
- Average proficiency with MS Project scheduling program
- Average proficiency with MS Access or other database programs
- Above average proficiency with MS Excel & Word
- Above average proficiency with Internet
- Above average verbal & writing skills
- Above average organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data
- Demonstrated experience with project administration
- Demonstrated experience with project scheduling
- Demonstrated experience with productivity analysis
- Demonstrated experience with project cost control accounting
- Demonstrated experience with equipment & material procurement
Responsibilities
- Project Estimating (Take-Off & Analysis)
- Project Scheduling (Manpower scheduling)
- Manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Prepare Submittal Packages
- Manage Flow of Contractor provided submittal data
- Assist in data population of forms
- Prepare Project Progress Billings
- Assist in Technical Analysis, Trouble shooting, and problem solving of HVAC Air Equipment, HVAC Piping Equipment Systems, HVAC & Plumbing Equipment
