Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study
6+ years of related experience
Experienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD)
Knowledgeable of automation products, services, and the industry
Capable of creating machine designs with complex assemblies and subassemblies.
Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer OR other technical Certifications preferred
Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
Preferred industry experience: Process and/or Medical

Responsibilities

Develop conceptual designs and create system level architecture.
Establish project plans including coordination of technical resources and design directions.
Complete layout of machine through detail of all components.
Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
Assist with the successful management of assigned projects as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction.
Manage several on-going projects concurrently.
Assist in developing the Mechanical Engineering department through leadership, experience, encouragement and mentorship.
Possesses above average oral and written communication skills.
Initiate and maintain extensive contact with key engineers, external departments, and customers.
Lead teams and influence project direction and progress.
Serve as a technical expert in the department and may mentor/train other mechanical engineers.
Travel required up to 20% including overnight and international to customer sites & other JR locations.
