About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for their New York, NY office. The role involves mechanical/HVAC engineering design, BIM using Revit MEP, CAD drafting using AutoCAD, HVAC load calculations and energy modeling using Trane Trace 3D, drawing production, specification writing, equipment selection, discipline coordination, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems. Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering degree.
• NYS Professional Engineering License.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with MEP projects, especially mechanical and HVAC system design.
• Must have experience designing mechanical and HVAC systems and producing design documents for buildings in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with MS Office programs (WORD, Excel, etc.)
• Good communications skills – Oral and written.
• Must be a self-motivated, pro-active professional with drive and determination.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Nice To Haves

• Bently BIM and/or MicroStation experience a plus
• Experience in running HVAC loads and energy modeling with Trane Trace 3D Software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design of projects with Mechanical Construction Value(s) up to $10 MM.
• Assigns tasks to and coordinates with entry/staff engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
• Assists in determining technical, schedule and budget (staffing/manhours) requirements.
• Interface and coordinate with architects and other disciplines and working with others as needed on projects.
• Perform basic code reviews.
• Attend meetings, prepare meeting minutes, conduct site visits and field inspections of mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Prepare mechanical and HVAC engineering analysis, calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications.
• Serve as Project Manager on small projects.
