Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience designing or supporting high-temperature piping systems.
Knowledge of piping design principles, materials selection, stress considerations, and fabrication methods.
Familiarity with applicable piping codes and industry standards.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Successful drug screening.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting nuclear, national laboratories, or other highly regulated environments.
Experience with piping systems for high-temperature process, thermal, or metallurgical applications.
Proficiency with piping design and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Plant 3D, or similar.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze high-temperature piping systems for advanced process applications.
Develop piping layouts, engineering calculations, isometrics, specifications, and technical documentation.
Support system fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop piping solutions for complex process systems.
Ensure designs comply with applicable piping codes, DOE requirements, and industry standards.
Support engineering reviews, design modifications, and continuous process improvements.
