This opportunity with Black & Veatch provides the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Power Providers Market Sector, supporting Nuclear Generation projects and delivering critical infrastructure for today and tomorrow’s challenges. Mechanical and piping professionals contribute to the design and development of complex systems, including piping layouts, equipment arrangements, material handling systems, and mechanical support structures essential to plant operations. The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Staff Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring a strong understanding of mechanical and piping design principles and practices. Responsibilities focus on creating and modifying detailed 3D models and 2D deliverables, including piping layouts, isometrics, and equipment arrangements, using advanced techniques in industry-standard design tools such as Bentley (MicroStation, OpenPlant Modeler, and Octave, formerly Hexagon (Forte 3D, Facets P&ID). As this position supports the global nuclear program at Black & Veatch, any potential offer will be conditional on the individual being able to satisfy all requirements, including citizenship requirements, outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations 10 CFR 810.
