We are seeking a versatile Mechanical & Packaging Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware design and logistics optimization. You will take ownership of packaging design for new product introductions (NPI), optimize existing packaging systems, and support continuous product improvement. Your expertise will directly impact electronic products, including networking gear, cellular systems, system-on-chip, and single-board computers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience using SolidWorks.
  • Experience in sheet metal design and plastic component design.
  • Must have valid work authorization in the United States at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience.
  • Proven success designing packaging optimized for global shipping.
  • Familiarity with ISTA testing and packaging standards.
  • Experience designing enclosures (including sheet metal, plastic injection molding , and cast aluminum) and managing mechanical interfaces for PCBs or networking hardware.
  • Experience collaborating with international vendors and manufacturing suppliers.
  • Experience with tools like QuickPalletMaker or StackBuilder.
  • Knowledge of ArtiosCAD, EngView or similar software is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design innovative packaging for new products and optimize existing packaging to maximize logistics efficiency.
  • Create detailed packaging procedures for new products.
  • Modify and improve mechanical components to resolve quality issues, enhance performance, or reduce costs.
  • Develop and refine sheet metal enclosures, plastic components, and structural elements for electronic hardware.
  • Work directly with global suppliers to seamlessly transition products from the design phase into high-volume production.
