The Mechanical Materials Handling Engineer will join the Mechanical Resources Team, collaborating with the broader Energy and Resources team on multidisciplinary projects, primarily within the Mining sectors. Initially, the role will focus on the design of materials handling projects across Western Canada, with the potential to grow the Western Canadian team through strong business acumen.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of completing Engineering design work in the Mining sector
  • Proven organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, self-motivate, and adapt to change
  • Excellent Communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels

Nice To Haves

  • P.Eng designation or eligible to become a P.Eng within Canada is an asset
  • Experience with metal / mineral processing plants, piping, cooling systems, compression, mining operations, conveyance systems and / or pressure vessels is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Participate and produce various deliverables in line with the project needs
  • Developing and producing design deliverables on a variety of industrial projects
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams, produce and sign off deliverables
  • Work with the department Lead to pursue new business opportunities with new and/or existing clients
  • Assist stakeholders in proposal writing and fee estimates
  • Collaboratively support business/operations through sound management of value, risk, content, communication, knowledge & resources
  • Provide expertise in brownfield and sustaining projects
  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety, as well as all other regulations & policies
  • Development & implementation of budgets
  • Partake to site surveys
