About The Position

The Mechanical Manager will ensure energy savings for the factories worldwide, in accordance with the LEGO Group’s promises and aspirations supporting the growth of LEGO and our ambition to deliver our phenomenal product to more children. Core Responsibilities Drives mechanical projects in collaboration with colleagues at factories globally. Support with design and installation of HVAC, cooling, compressed air and plumbing systems for production at the LEGO Group’s planned factory in Richmond, VA. Support all sites with knowledge and project support in relation to own expertise. Participation in projects and collaboration with suppliers and authorities. Support discovery of new technologies and solutions to be implemented in the LEGO Group’s standards and projects. Auditing processes, standards and policies to ensure that they are followed. Training of colleagues within mechanical area. Play your part in our Team Succeeding Engineering Design & Sustainability is part of Global Workplace Projects where we are responsible for large scale construction projects and other utility-related projects. ED&S is responsible for the technical aspects e.g., supply concepts, MEP subject areas, building management systems and fire safety. We develop, maintain and innovate our global standards and apply them to projects worldwide. The team consists of 30+ people (mainly engineers), with a broad diversity in functional fields and experience. While the team supports both operations and projects at all sites globally, this position will have a heavy focus on operability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is heavily desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical manufacturing and automation.
  • Ammonia safety and training certification(s) or ability to acquire within 120 days of hire.
  • Mechanical setup (e.g., utility and energy supply, cooling, heating, compressed air) installations for international clients.
  • Experience in a Facilities setting with a solid understanding of operating and maintaining mechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with international standards and practices in engineering design and installations.
  • Experience in international engineering and local design.
  • Knowledge of mechanical related automation control strategy.
  • Knowledge of local standards and regulations within own area of expertise.
  • Good communication skills, easily build up relationships/network to stakeholders and colleagues
  • Elaborate written presentations at a high level for distribution across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with design, installation and commissioning, and/or operations and maintenance of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management principles and the ability to apply them to complex, multi-disciplinary projects is a plus.
