About The Position

Oberg Industries is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Precision Machining Center in Sarver, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and improving a variety of precision manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and uptime. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, machine rebuilding experience, blueprint reading skills, and working knowledge of welding, fabrication, and basic electrical systems. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience rebuilding industrial machinery.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, machining, tooling, or industrial maintenance environment.
  • Moderately advanced welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment to restore full operational capability.
  • Observe machine operation and analyze mechanical issues to determine root causes of failures.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment to access and replace defective components.
  • Perform complete machine rebuilds to improve performance, accuracy, and tolerances.
  • Fabricate replacement parts for obsolete or unavailable machine components.
  • Adjust and calibrate mechanical systems, control devices, and instrumentation.
  • Install new components and perform preventative lubrication and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate and requisition replacement parts, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and perform unscheduled repairs.
  • Complete preventive and predictive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, machine manuals, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Utilize testing equipment and technical expertise to diagnose equipment and system issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
