About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant IV to join our team in Sanford, NC! Typical work schedule is 1st shift, 6AM – 2:30PM; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation. The Facilities Maintenance Assistant IV will be responsible for responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, operation, adjustment, and cleaning of process treatment equipment, and general housekeeping. Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Fanuc Robots, VFD’s, pumps, bearings, blowers, fans, gearboxes, hoist, air handlers and other equipment as required. Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on all production related industrial systems including, but not limited to, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and coolant systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Three years of experience as an electrical and/or mechanical maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and systems in an industrial setting or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position does require a valid Driver’s License.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or trade school certification in Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, or a related program.
  • Experience performing pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright related work.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing industrial production systems such as conveyors and coolant systems to OEM specifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting robotic control systems, such as Fanuc, ABB, etc.
  • Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing cranes and hoists.
  • Experience utilizing measurement tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, various type gauges, and calibers to set tolerances to OEM Specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and related work on the production equipment and systems.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, alignments, etc.
  • Utilizes meggers, voltmeters, multi-meters, etc.
  • Performs plumbing and hydraulic hose repairs.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
  • Safely operates fork-lifts, hoists and cranes.
  • Utilizes safe rigging and lifting techniques.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
