About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the execution of maintenance work within the Maintenance Work Management process, ensuring that all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with defined standards. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this role will oversee frontline maintenance crews, coordinate daily and weekly work execution, and ensure alignment between planning, scheduling, and operations. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining execution discipline, validating work quality, and ensuring accurate data capture to support reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in maintenance execution, supervision, or engineering in Mining, heavy industrial, or processing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading frontline maintenance teams.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance work management processes.
  • Proficiency in CMMS systems (SAP, Pronto, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of safety systems including risk assessments and isolations.
  • Ability to manage both planned and emergent work effectively.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across maintenance and operations teams.
  • Practical technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or fixed plant equipment.
  • Experience supervising contractor work.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • High attention to detail and structured execution approach.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA

  • Formal trade qualification or technical certification preferred.
  • Additional training in maintenance, reliability, or leadership is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise maintenance crews to safely execute scheduled and break-in work in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Review, approve, and prioritize all incoming schedule break-in Work Requests, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and appropriate prioritization before execution.
  • Coordinate daily with the Operations Supervisor to align on priorities, validate downtime, and confirm execution plans.
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings to communicate safety expectations, assign work, and confirm schedule and quality requirements with technicians.
  • Maintain control of work execution by actively monitoring field activities to ensure safety compliance, adherence to scope, and quality of work.
  • Ensure all work is executed in accordance with risk assessments, isolations, and safety procedures.
  • Manage emergent and break-in work, ensuring proper prioritization and minimal disruption to the planned schedule.
  • Raise, plan, and release Work Orders for urgent work, including defining scope, materials, and service requirements as needed.
  • Verify that all equipment is returned to operations in a safe and fit-for-use condition following maintenance completion.
  • Coordinate equipment handover with Operations and ensure proper communication at shift end.
  • Ensure all Work Orders are completed with accurate time confirmations and maintenance history captured in the CMMS.
  • Identify and raise follow-up work to ensure defects and additional issues are properly captured.
  • Review and close Work Orders, ensuring completeness and data accuracy prior to closure.
  • Monitor execution performance and provide feedback to planners to improve job plans and work package quality.
  • Participate in weekly planning and scheduling routines, including Draft Schedule Review and Schedule Confirmation meetings.
  • Review statutory and safety work completion weekly and ensure compliance requirements are met or rescheduled appropriately.
  • Review upcoming work schedules and confirm readiness of work packs, including materials, labor, and scope.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduler to review and adjust resource capacity for upcoming work.
  • Attend and contribute to Work Management KPI review meetings.
  • Ensure contractor work is properly supervised, recorded, and integrated into CMMS processes.
  • Verify proper handling of materials, including return of unused, damaged, or rotable components.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to maintenance technicians.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and execution discipline within the team.
