This position is responsible for assisting the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent or Coordinator in the preventive maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment associated with the water treatment and distribution system or wastewater treatment and collection system. Work is performed in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act or Clean Water Act and other State and Federal laws concerning water, water sampling, and water or wastewater treatment or wastewater collections. These guidelines are clear and specific. Work involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing water treatment and conveyance units, mechanical equipment, electrical circuits, and associated instrumentation. Work is assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent and/or Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator, and is spot-checked for accuracy and the nature and propriety of the final results. The incumbent provides 24-hour on-call emergency duty coverage.
