Key responsibilities for the Mechanical Machine Build Apprentice include: Complete a four-year apprenticeship program, including 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and related technical instruction at Lansing Community College. Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and academic performance throughout the program. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the workplace. Develop proficiency in reading technical drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and understanding various materials used in machine construction. Cultivate problem-solving skills and contribute effectively to team projects. Maintain detailed records of work performed and skills acquired. Continuously seek opportunities for self-improvement and uphold Bekum America's high standards of quality and precision in all tasks. Successful completion of this program leads to a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's certificate. Bekum encourages apprentices to pursue an Associate's Degree through our tuition assistance program.
