The Sanford, Florida location is seeking a full-time permanent Mechanical Level I for both Tissue and Converting operations. This role is for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join the Maintenance team at Resolute Tissue, a leading manufacturer of tissue products. The position requires technical and leadership skills and is based at a state-of-the-art paper mill in Sanford, Florida, which manufactures tissue parent rolls and converts them into finished products like bath tissue and paper towels for away-from-home and value retail channels. Sanford is near Orlando, Florida, offering no state income tax, a great climate, and a friendly atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Industry experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year Associate Degree in a related field or a registered apprenticeship or similar training.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • At least 3-5 years in-plant Heavy Industrial Maintenance experience.
  • Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical background with adequate craft knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to develop long and short term strategic improvement plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • Paper Mill experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Replace valves, gaskets, basic welding, repack pumps and valves, forklift operation, screwed piping and tubing installation, pump repair & replacement, repair of rotating assemblies, roll repair & replacement, motor replacement, and repair of mechanical drive systems.
  • Ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, and mechanical specifications.
  • Actively lead and participate in safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Approach all aspects of the work with ‘safety as a value.’
  • Wear required safety equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures including: lockout/tagout, confined spaces, etc.
  • Safely perform preventative maintenance and repairs on paper machines, buildings, stock prep, steam supply/boiler equipment, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Be available to work overtime with last minute notification.
  • Be available to work holidays and/or weekends.
  • Work flexible hours including occasional late-night call-ins.
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces with proper training & safety protection).
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary.
