Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Journeyman certification or equivalent mechanical trade experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a mechanical journeyman in industrial and commercial construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to perform layout, take-offs, and material measurements accurately.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • United States Citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures using technical knowledge and testing equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and work orders.
  • Align, assemble, and install pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components.
  • Inspect equipment and identify work or damaged parts requiring repair or replacement.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and welding or fabrication equipment as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work documentation.
  • Coordinate work with other trades (welders, electricians, carpenters, etc.) and project teams.
  • Provide guidance and direction to apprentices and helpers as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
