Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in gas turbine structural/mechanical integrity analysis
  • Demonstrate expertise in aerospace structures and systems.
  • Must have a strong understanding of low cycle fatigue (LCF) and fatigue and fracture mechanics theory and applications
  • Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and managers at all organizational levels.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Some Siemens NX CAD experience for model modifications would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in geometry and mesh preparation using tools such as: Siemens Simcenter, and Siemens NX.
  • Experience in model setup and analysis with tools like: ANSYS Classic/Workbench, and Heeds.
  • Ability to post-process data and create high-quality presentations of results.
  • Familiarity with strength, fatigue, and durability properties, as well as materials, processes, and part standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work efficiently under time constraints, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Thrive in a collaborative and dynamic team environment, appreciating diverse experiences and contributing positively.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and hand calculations where relevant, to provide technical substantiation for design decisions.
  • Actively participate in technical and program reviews, contributing valuable insights, expertise, and communication with the customer.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools including: ANSYS Classic, ANSYS Workbench, Siemens Simcenter, Nastran/Patran, and ABAQUS for analysis tasks.
  • Collaborate directly with internal and external engineering teams, fostering effective communication and synergy.
  • Formulate and apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to address complex engineering challenges.
  • Thoroughly document all work, including analysis plans, in compliance with customer requirements and prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on your findings.
