About The Position

Performance Contracting Group (PCG) is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Insulation Estimator for its PCI San Antonio 116 operations based in San Antonio, TX. Requirements

• Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work
• Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High level of attention to detail and cost analysis
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work
• Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, BuzzBID, Quickbid, and/or MIKE
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
• At least 2-4 years of experience estimating construction projects is preferred
• Experience with estimating/project management/managing HVAC pipe and duct insulation scopes of construction is preferred
• Local to San Antonio metro area

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
• Establish labor productivities for estimate
• Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group
• Gain understanding of market conditions and competitive approach through engaging customer feedback on proposal scope clarifications and price
• Understanding backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages to mitigate risk
• Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
• Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules
• Hand-off secured projects to the Operations team
• Assist in other duties as assigned such as change orders depending on the project(s)
• Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration
