About The Position

The Mechanical Inspector performs first piece and in-process inspections on machined components to ensure compliance with Engineering drawings. This role interfaces with shop floor, production, and Engineering personnel to ensure timely resolution of Non-conformances and to ensure that all product manufactured meets all Engineering requirements.

Requirements

• Three years minimum experience in an NC machine manufacturing environment.
• Must be extremely proficient in the use of inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, Inter-mics, height gage, etc.).
• Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office products.
• Ability to learn is required.
• English: Speaking-Fluent, Read-Fluent, Write-Fluent

• Drawing Interpretation
• Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience (PC-DMIS preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform First Piece inspections in order to verify part compliance to Engineering drawings prior to approving the part for Production machining.
• Perform In-Process inspections on production parts in order to ensure continued compliance to Engineering drawings.
• Document the results of all inspections and compile weekly reports of inspections performed.
• Interface with machine operators and/or programmers in order to communicate and resolve issues (non-conformances) in an effective and timely manner.
• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering personnel in order to resolve drawing, fixture or programming-related issues.
• Use a computer to input and print documents as non-conformance report.
• Performs reasonably related duties as assigned.
