About The Position

Nova Biomedical is hiring a Mechanical Inspector I to confirm the quality of incoming products and inspect precision machined and molded parts. The role performs first-article inspections using elaborate setups, department inspection equipment, and Part Quality Inspection Plans. The inspector generates non-conforming reports for products that are out of tolerance and works with R&D and engineering on prototype products. The role also helps train department employees on equipment and inspection techniques. This is an on-site position at Nova Biomedical’s Billerica, Massachusetts, Enterprise Road facility, five days per week, Monday through Friday. The stated working hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The targeted salary is $28–$32 per hour, with actual compensation based on factors including experience, location, skills, and education.

Requirements

3–5 years of mechanical measurement experience.
Familiarity with most inspection equipment, such as comparators, verniers, and micrometers.
Above-average computer skills.
Good people skills.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Confirm the quality of products coming into the building using Part Quality Inspection Plans.
Perform first-article inspections of high-precision machined and molded parts using elaborate setups.
Use department inspection equipment, including a CMM machine and OGP Smartscope.
Generate non-conforming reports for products that are out of tolerance.
Work with R&D and engineering on prototype products.
Help train department employees on equipment and inspection techniques.
