About The Position

The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for safely and effectively preparing and assembling mechanical components from intake to shipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various hand tools and power tools, reading blueprints, and utilizing tape measures. Any mounting experience is a bonus. Primarily, you need to have experience with power tools and hand tools - drills, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, etc. As a note, we do not have air conditioning in the plant.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Prior experience using hand tools and operating forklifts
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safe work practices
  • Ability to routinely lift 50+ lbs and transport objects as needed
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, squatting, and climbing
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may exceed 100°F or fall below 32°F, including exposure to environmental elements

Nice To Haves

  • Mounting experience
  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience or prior certification in operating overhead cranes
  • Familiarity with mechanical fitting in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, solutions-focused, and productive attitude in support of plant goals for reliability, safety, integrity, quality, and overall performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to assemble mechanical components using hand tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment.
  • Utilize forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment to transport components within the facility.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify and address issues during assembly and ensure proper documentation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve production challenges and meet daily targets.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks and support engineering or electrical teams when needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including parts assembled and quantities completed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
