About The Position

HM Staffing Solutions is seeking some reliable and safety-focused Fire Watch to monitor work areas where welding, cutting, grinding, or other hot work activities are being performed.

Requirements

• Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous fire watch, construction, industrial, or safety experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Fire Watch Training Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification

Responsibilities

• Monitor hot work activities to prevent fires and other safety hazards.
• Inspect work areas before, during, and after hot work operations.
• Ensure fire extinguishers and other fire prevention equipment are readily available and in working condition.
• Watch for sparks, flames, smoke, or other potential fire risks.
• Maintain continuous surveillance of assigned areas during operations.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions and emergency situations.
• Follow all site-specific safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Document inspections and observations as required.
• Remain on-site for the designated fire watch period after hot work is completed.
