About The Position

The Mechanical Field Service Engineer (ADGT) is a field-based role that requires the incumbent to travel to customer sites across the APAC region to provide specialist installation and maintenance support as directed by their Resource Manager. The role will report to the Resource Manager for the SEA region. As a Baker Hughes Mechanical Engineer – Field Service, you will represent Baker Hughes both technically and professionally to ensure that equipment is installed, maintained, and started properly. This role involves working with a team of Field Service Engineers under the direction of the Service Manager/Installation Manager/Site Manager/Lead Engineer on site to provide on-site technical direction to skilled labor during installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities for Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbines (LM2500/LM6000) /Heavy Duty Gas Turbines/Nuovo Pignone Compressors (BCL Compressors) /Pumps/Auxiliaries on Customer Owned Sites in remote Shipyards, Industrial Facilities, and LNG Plants.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree/High School Technical Diploma or equivalent knowledge or at least three (3) years of work experience.
  • Significant work experience, preferably in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge on Baker Hughes/GE Aeroderivates Gas Turbine/Compressors/Auxiliaries installation & maintenance philosophy.
  • Fluent oral and written English.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Focus and driven on Health, Safety and Environmental mindset and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbine (LM2500/LM6000) /Heavy Duty Gas Turbines/Nuovo Pignone Compressors (BCL Compressors) /Pumps/Auxiliaries maintenance and services inclusive of minor inspections, major inspections, rebuilds, and refurbishment of the equipment's.
  • Experienced working in an Installation, Maintenance, Commissioning Site Activities with proper Customer/Company Schedule Targets Mindset following strictly Quality and HSE Rules.
  • Utilizing Problem Solving Skills, Engineering Instructions, Drawings, and Process Instructions during Gas Turbines Commissioning and Start-up Activities.
  • Possessing the Technical Capability to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for Gas Turbines Products.
  • Preparation of job-planning documents based to Assignment’s Scope of Work and be the point of reference on site for all the activity related to Mechanical works on site.
  • Communicating effectively with Customer, Site Manager, FSE, Service / Installation / Project Managers on job planning and execution and with Resource Managers regarding site arrivals, departures and job progression.
  • Providing input for Daily, Weekly & Final report for outages and installations projects.
  • Preparing timely and accurate technical reports for Customer records and as Reference for future Outages.
  • Actively participate to customer and/or contractor meeting and be promoter on their recurrence and following action plan.
  • Establish through the immediate Report after the Daily HSE Tool Box Talking (mandatory for Baker Hughes/Contractor personnel) the critical activity tasks and remark any HSE aspect to be followed.
  • Have knowledge of all Quality procedures and documentation applicable to specific activities and ensure they are properly followed and updated.
  • Ensure that Red Flag Review process for New Units Installation is followed and applied.
  • Ensure Site Quality Check List/Job Cards/Field Procedure are followed and properly signed.
  • Ensure reports and drawings “marked-up” are completed.
  • Ensure all RCA and Lesson Learned are addressed properly.
  • Ensure all Non-Conformity (technical and materials) are properly addressed using Baker Hughes e-tools and follow up till resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with local/current legislation, requests & requirements present in the site Safety Manual.
  • Willing to actively participate in NPI (New product Introduction) training to acquire Multiskilling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical direction to skilled labor during installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities for Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbines/Heavy Duty Gas Turbines/Nuovo Pignone Compressors/Pumps/Auxiliaries on Customer Owned Sites.
  • Perform maintenance and services for Baker Hughes/GE Aero derivatives Gas Turbines/Compressors/Pumps/Auxiliaries, including minor inspections, major inspections, rebuilds, and refurbishment.
  • Execute Installation, Maintenance, and Commissioning Site Activities adhering to Customer/Company Schedule Targets, Quality, and HSE Rules.
  • Utilize Problem Solving Skills, Engineering Instructions, Drawings, and Process Instructions during Gas Turbines Commissioning and Start-up Activities.
  • Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for Gas Turbines Products.
  • Prepare job-planning documents based on the Assignment’s Scope of Work and serve as the point of reference on site for all mechanical works.
