Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 4-years Accredited Certificate Program (Ontario or interprovincial ticket certificate. Plus, relevant trade license (Red Seal) with experience such as Millwright, HVAC, Steamfitter, Plumber)
  • Minimum four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and skills in Mechanical/ Electrical and Blueprint reading

  • Knowledge in Health & Safety

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum four (4) years Accredited Certificate Program (Two Ontario or interprovincial tickets or certificates. Two relevant trade licenses with experience such as Millwright, HVAC, Steamfitter, Plumber) plus a minimum of three (3) years of previous relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate building systems, BAS and FMS to provide specified and reliable environmental conditions and utilities to (but not limited to) production, packaging, laboratory, warehouse and office areas.
  • Document system conditions as assigned.
  • Systems should be monitored and alarms/issues addressed where known.
  • Operate equipment on Building Automation Systems.
  • Maintenance and trouble shooting of equipment and systems.
  • Document and log equipment and system conditions.
  • Inform the Manager, Quality and customer of any abnormal conditions and steps taken or required to correct these conditions.
  • Monitor FMS/BAS system for proper operation of equipment/ systems.
  • Respond or identify all GMP and business critical alarms within the required time frame.
  • Provide support for trouble shooting issues, addressing related N/Cs and/or CAPA related documents.
  • Respond to alarms and carry out necessary repairs/ troubleshooting to resolve alarm conditions.
  • Coordinate with other trades, engineering and contractors if needed to resolve any alarm issues.
  • Apprize the manager, quality and customer of the troubleshooting, corrective and preventive actions taken/ needed to correct alarm conditions.
  • Update alarm tag notes in the system.
  • Document information in the work order system.
  • Troubleshooting building systems and facilities, including but not limited to, HVAC, Clean utilities, mechanical, steam and plumbing in a professional and timely fashion and execute any required repairs and re-checks.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of building systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate and work with other trades, engineering, contractors and stores to ensure all the work is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Perform repairs where a specialized license is not required.
  • Use drawing and manuals for trouble shooting.
  • Provide update on issues to manager, quality and customers as required.
  • Determines impact of required work, communicates and co-ordinates major repairs with other trade staff/ contractors and users to minimize service interruption.
  • Coordinates the required scheduled and unscheduled shutdowns (facility and equipment related) and related work.
  • Coordinate major repairs/ shutdown work with planning, customer, trades and contractors to minimize service interruption.
  • Reviews major planned shutdown work orders with planner using the SAP system.
  • Coordinates with stores to ensure all necessary parts are available.
  • Arranges external contractors for shutdown work in coordination with planner and building managers.
  • Execute or follow-up on preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and daily, weekly checks on the equipment using SAP work order system, where not restricted by regulatory licensing requirements.
  • Identify and request parts when required to perform the maintenance.
  • Ensure the area where working is left in a neat and tidy condition.
  • Monitor mechanical rooms for cleanliness and any other abnormal conditions such as leaks and carryout repairs as required.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Other activities as requested which may include Continuous Improvement, projects and other initiatives or tasks
  • Other duties as assigned to operate the business
