About The Position

The Mechanical Facilities Engineer will provide technical guidance to technicians and engineers, acting as a technical expert for various facility systems. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment, reviewing preventative maintenance, managing projects, and driving continuous improvements within the facilities department. The engineer will also be involved in SPC monitoring, process changes, root cause analysis, and ensuring adherence to environmental health and safety policies.

Requirements

  • 4 Year Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline
  • 5-8 years of work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to at times work in a cleanroom environment
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting that includes bending or crouching

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and engineers
  • Act as a technical expert for cooling systems (chillers, glycol chillers, cooling towers, process cooling water, water treatment)
  • Act as a technical expert for HVAC systems (FTU’s, make-up air handler units, air flow patterns, cleanroom filters, DX units)
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of requirements for maintaining a cleanroom (characterization, instrumentation, filters, and general materials)
  • Act as a technical expert for hot water systems (boilers), compressed air system, and process vacuum
  • Act as a technical expert for scrubbing systems and general exhaust
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment in respective systems including coordination with contractors
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring preventative maintenance are completed to specification and planned schedule
  • Responsible for system upkeep and implementing or modifying PMs accordingly
  • Active lead in supporting department meetings, capital planning, and expense budgeting
  • SPC monitoring in accordance with facilities specifications
  • Lead process changes through the process control board as needed
  • Perform root cause analysis on incidents
  • Manage complex capital and expense projects, from concept to scope to timeline delivery and commissioning
  • Work within defined technical processes and procedures
  • Initiate and drive continuous improvements, strive for impact
  • Ability to adapt and move quickly to accomplish goals
  • Uphold area upkeep and 5S principles
  • Adhere to environmental health and safety policies
  • Ability to complete job hazard assessments alongside contractors and internal teams
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally, escalate as required
  • Maintain and create standard operating procedures
  • Ability to train operations on SOPs and LOTO
  • Perform detail-oriented record keeping and reporting
